ICC World Cup 2011


The ICC World Cup 2011 is going to be started on 19th February 2011. The opening ceremony will be held on 17th February 2011. The Final match of the ICC World Cup 2011 would take place on 2nd April, 2011.


The Opening Ceremony of the ICC World Cup 2011 will be held in Bangladesh. The venue for the opening ceremony is Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event will take place on 17th February, 2011, 2 days prior to the first match of the World Cup.

From 1st June 2010, the first phase of the tickets have started selling. According to the tournament's Central Organising Committee in Mumbai, the price of the ticket is costing 20 cents US which is affordable by all.

The official event ambassador for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 is Sachin Tendulkar.

The name of the official mascot for ICC World Cup 2011 is "Stumpy". He is a ten year old elephant and is very young, enthusiastic and is determined.

The official song of the 2011 World Cup is "De Ghuma Ke". The song is composed by the trio of Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, and it is sung in Hindi, Bangla and Sinhala. It has been sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Divya Kumar and has been marketed by Ogilvy and Mather. The song will be performed in the opening ceremony of the ICC World Cup 2011 to be held in Bangladesh on 17 February, 2011.

The prize money for the winning team of ICC World Cup 2011 is 3 million US$ and 1.5 million US$ for runner-up.
